An Open Letter

Dear Reader,

Do Muslims even understand Jews?

THE TRUTH: ‘Accusing Jews of colonizing Israel is almost like accusing native South Americans of colonizing South America’.

BECAUSE: Jew’s have lived in Israel CONTINUOUSLY FOR 3,300 YEARS. YES, continuously, including the last 2,000 years, for much of which time they were a majority and then later a harshly persecuted minority. And here is a brief list of 6 points documenting this history.

Part A

How would you feel if someone invaded and conquered Mecca, they slaughtered the your people, they raped your women, they forced you to convert to their religion, they banned you from praying at the Kaaba, your holiest site, and then then they oppressed you, they beat and attacked you in riots, made you wear clothing to ‘identify you as Muslims’, submitted you to public humiliation, slandered you and made you pay a high special tax – for over 1,000 years…Throughout this time, Muslims do not forget Mecca, there is a continuous Muslim community in Mecca, the rest pray every day facing Mecca hoping to return, many come from all over the world to try to return throughout history. How do you think Muslims would feel about any other nation conquering Mecca and then claiming it as their own?

And then, imagine that one day Muslims gain their independence once again, they are finally free of a harsh oppressor, they allow others to worship freely and Muslims to worship freely – but their prior oppressor comes back with the support of surrounding nations and tries to make Muslims submit to a hostile oppressor once again. And then they engage in an attack on you, try and massacre your population, to rule over you again and call you ‘Colonialists’ in the international media for wanting to live in your holiest places. How would you feel? You’d probably feel angry about this – and rightly so! But this is WHAT ARABS DID TO THE JEWS! And this is what Arabs are still trying to do today!

We have no other homeland, we have no other Holy Land, we have no other 22 arab states, we have no other 58 muslim states to protect us.

(ii) How would Catholics feel if the Vatican was conquered by another nation and a similar thing happened – you wouldn’t be too happy would you? – But this is what happened to the Jews!

“Do unto others…” “love thy neighbour….”

You want to talk about persecution and land? – So let’s review TRUE HISTORY OF A SUPPRESSED PEOPLE.

Currently there are at least 25 countries in the world wherein Islamic militants groups are fighting wars – countries where there are no Jews, and no Israel to use as an excuse for the fighting. Many of these countries are areas where the land was never ‘their land’.

You see, the vast majority of Jews want Palestinian Arabs to have their own autonomous nation, Google the polls done in Israel – they are just concerned that groups like Hamas have hijacked ‘Palestinian rights’ in an attempt to use places like Gaza as a launching pad and haven for jihad. The same type of Jihad currently taking place in at least 25 other countries. Therefore, they are concerned that no matter how many concessions or how much land they give back – these groups will never be satisfied until Israel is destroyed, like they have claimed – and like the policies and actions of other jihad groups. And the fact that Hamas brutally murdered any opposition within Gaza and has taken away the right of Gazans to vote since 2006 confirms this and there are concerns about the billions of dollars in funding Hamas gets from supporters in the Middle East and Europe. Further, if the examples of the rest of the middle east are anything to go by, then we are concerned about Palestinian ruler equivalents of Assad, ISIS, Hussein, Qadafi, Morsi, Khomeini etc who do not allow their people freedom and who are committed to continuously attacking Israel, funded by nations like Qatar and Iran who’s people and rulers sit safely at home while their ‘brother’ Palestinians are on the front lines of the battle Qatar and others are pushing for – so nice of them to do this to the Palestinians. But is anyone in Arab communities speaking up loudly to condemn Qatar and Iran, as loudly as they condemn Israel?

It is the words of your own leaders that have made us skeptical of your claims. Exhibits

(a) Palestine Liberation Organization’s Zuhair Mohsein told the Dutch newspaper Trouw in 1977:

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism.”

(b) Prior to partition, Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted: “We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.”

(c) In 1937, a local Arab leader, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, told the Peel Commission, which ultimately suggested the partition of Palestine: “There is no such country [as Palestine]! ‘Palestine’ is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria.”

The representative of the Arab Higher Committee to the United Nations submitted a statement to the General Assembly in May 1947 that said, “Palestine was part of the Province of Syria” and that, “politically, the Arabs of Palestine were not independent in the sense of forming a separate political entity.”

>>> Now for my Main point

IT IS UNTRUE AND DISHONEST to say that the Jews ‘just left’ the land for 2,000 years and then ‘all of a sudden’ decided to return and ‘dispossess’ a people.

Please Share any part of this that you like if you think it is important for people to know about the history of the area, and keep educating themselves.

>>Keep Reading: “Bear with me here please, I know this may seem long, but you’re doing well and its important that people are aware of the history because this is an important issue”

Part B

Here is 2,000 Years condensed into 6 brief points (not too bad a summary) showing, (i) THAT JEWS HAVE MAINTAINED A CONTINUOUS PRESENCE, (ii) OFTEN TRIED TO FOUND THEIR OWN AUTONOMOUS NATION, (iii) REMAINED A UNIQUE PEOPLE, AND (iii) HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF JEWS HAD BEEN RETURNING FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD despite persecution. (Sources listed at the end)

(1) THE EARLY YEARS – THE REMNANTS OF THE JEWISH KINGDOM

70CE: JEWISH KINGDOM. 1.1 Million Jews slaughtered by Rome. 97 thousand slaves. However, 2/3 POPULATION is still JEWISH. 136CE: 580 thousand+ Jews massacred in Bar Kochba uprising to re-establish Israel. 50 Towns and 985 villages raised to the ground. 363 CE: Jews Rebuild and Re-populate Jerusalem. – JEWS MAJORITY population in ‘Syria Palestina’ (renamed by Romans to dispossess Jewish population that were responsible for many revolts for independence)

(2) BYZANTINE RULE – THE START OF CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION

(A) 4th Century: Constantine Christianity. Jews live in at least 43 Jewish communities + 12 towns on the coast, in the Negev + East of the Jordan + 31 villages in Galilee and Jordan Valley. NOT 1 BUT 2 Jewish revolts to establish a Jewish Kingdom. Jews oppressed by Christians – influx of Christians with collapse of Western Roman Empire dispossess Jews of more of their land. 438CE: Empress Eudocia declares, “End to Jewish exile” – recalling all Jews.

(B) 613CE: JEWS RE-CAPTURE JERUSALEM with Persians – JEWS AUNTONONOMOUS until the Persians betrayed their agreements. 628CE Jews help Heraclius conquer Palestine – thousands of Jewish refugees flee following widespread massacres when Heraclius turns on the Jews.

(3) ARAB/MUSLIM RULE

638CE: Islamic conquest. The MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION JEWS or Samaritan. There were BETWEEN 300,000 – 400,000 JEWS living there. Jews become DHIMMIS, second class citizens, restricted religion, denial rights and professions, land dispossessed (If you think DHIMMITUDE isn’t so bad, ask yourself why there are hardly any non-Muslims left in the 58 Muslim countries today – and what just happened to the Christians in Iraq? However, dhimmitude wasn’t as bad as Christian persecution). (a) Jewish community began to GROW MORE and flourish (b) JEWS RE-POPULATE JERUSALEM. (c) 720CE Jews BANNED FROM WORSHIPPING AT THEIR HOLIEST SITE – THE TEMPLE MOUNT

8th century: 10,000-armed Jews try to restore the Holy Land to the Jewish Nation. ATTEMPT AT INDEPENDENCE SUPPRESSED AND thousands of JEWS MASSACRED.

STILL LARGE JEWISH COMMUNITIES in Ramle, smaller communities in Hebron, Acre, Caesarea, Jaffa, Ashkelon, Gaza etc. Dhimmi oppressive laws increase under Arab conquerors. – Resist pressure to convert.

(4) CRUSADERS (1099 – 1291)

Crusaders ‘Mercilessly persecute and slaughter Jews’. Jewish villages remain in Jerusalem, Tiberias, Ramle, Ashkelon, Gaza, and Caesarea etc.

(5) REVIVAL AND INCREASED RETURN (1211 – 1517)

1187CE: Saladin declares to Jews “Return Jews, your exiles is over” Jews return and settle Jerusalem. 1211CE Jewish community further strengthened by Jews fleeing France and England – at least 300 Rabbis. In the coming Years, great Jewish sages, disciples, communities and families return from around the world.

1266CE: JEWS BANNED FROM the Cave of the Patriarchs by Muslim rulers. Large Jewish communities from Syria and Egypt continue to spend festivals in Jerusalem.

1495CE: Records at least 200 Jewish families in Jerusalem, Jewish population in Safed alone was 10,000 by early 16th century By the beginning of the 17th century, Safed alone had 18 talmudic colleges + 21 Synagogues! At least 30 Jewish urban and rural communities.

The area remains an area with a sparse population, scarcely cultivated.

(5) OTTOMAN RULE 1517CE – 1917CE

Resurgence of Jewish life – much learning and Torah/Tawrat study. SAFED ALONE HAS BETWEEN 20,000 – 30,000 JEWS by the end of the century. ‘Palestine’ is an Ottoman backwater.

1563CE: A JEWISH City State is established in Tiberias and 7 surrounding villages under Sultan Selim 2nd. 1576CE – expulsion order issued, Jews forced to flee. 1654CE, Jews Immigrate to Israel after 100,000 Jews are massacred in the Khmelnitsky Uprising in Ukraine – Jews flee Europe and return to their Holy land (as written in the Tawrat as refugees). 1660CE Druze attack and destroy Safed and Tiberias. 1665CE Massacre of the Jews in Jerusalem. Later, Vilna Gaon (very great Jewish leader) settles in Israel – encourages Ashkenazi revival in Jerusalem and supplements Sephardi community.

1834 CE: Jews targeted in pogroms in Hebron, Safed and Jerusalem under Muhammad Ali of Egypt – killed and flee. In 1844, Jews constituted the largest population group in Jerusalem and by 1890 an absolute majority in the city – Jews reduced to less than 10% of population in the region (including modern Israel, Gaza, Judaea and Samaria, Jordan, and parts of Lebanon and Syria).

So on behalf of all the dead Jews, killed by Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Christian and Ottoman rulers, we’re sorry that there weren’t more Jews (to meet your ridiculous standards) living in the area and we didn’t breed as fast as the Arabs have (Palestinian birth rate is the 10th in the world, faster than over 200 other countries). We were too busy being attacked, taxed and forced to flee by, violent and cruel oppressors – think, about what ISIS is doing to Shiites and Christians in Iraq today. And the rest of the Jews didn’t have aero-planes, trains or cars to get there until more recently – let alone the power to gain independence from the giant Imperialist Ottoman Empire.

(6) ALIYAHS 1880’s – 1948

THOUSANDS of Jews return to Israel, many as refugees fleeing attacks and pogroms for their lives. Purchase land legally from absentee Syrian landlords – generally locals was poor not mass landowners. Jews clear and irrigate fields, drain reclaim land from swamps and drive out diseases and sicknesses. Jewish ‘industry’, and farming attracts thousands of Arab immigrants from Egypt, Syria and Modern Jordan – Not Native ‘Palestinians’. Balfour Declaration, Peel Commission, etc. Sovereignity Promised to Jews.

Part C

It was Jewish industry, farming, and healthcare that lead to an Arab population Boom in the area.

A study of the Jewish settlement of Rishon L’Tzion, first established in 1882, showed that the 40 Jewish families that settled there had attracted “more than 400 Arab families” many of which were Bedouin and Egyptian. These families moved into areas around the Jewish settlement and formed a new Arab village on the site of “a forsaken ruin” – but I’m not saying that this was all the Arab villages. The report by A Druyanow, Ketavim Letoldot Hibbat Ziyyon VE Yishuv Erez Yisrael vol3 pp66-67 also noted that similar patterns with regard to other settlements.

Now I’m not saying ‘Palestine was a land without a people…’ I’m saying that the land was sparsely populated given the population it was able to support but that there were people – people descended from crusaders (many Arabs had fled the crusaders), from the Arabs, from the ottomans, Turks, Algerians, Greeks and Egyptians, the population had been in flux consistently – part of the Ottoman empire. But the land looked nothing then like it looks today. And I am implying that Arab rulers, have used Palestinians as a weapon against Israel, have you ever wondered why Palestinians, their children and their grandchildren are still locked in refugee camps after nearly 70 years by their ‘Arab brothers’? How many other groups of people have remained in refugee camps from the time of the second world war?

Here is how Mark Twain described it when he visited in 1867 (source: ‘Innocents Abroad’) Give him a bit of poetic license, but you’ll get the point. “Stirring scenes…occur in the valley [Jezreel] no more. There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent not for thirty miles in either direction. There are two or three small clusters of Bedouin tents, but not a single permanent habitation. One may ride ten miles hereabouts and not see ten human beings…Come to Galilee for that… these unpeopled deserts, these rusty mounds of barrenness…. this stupid village of Tiberias, slumbering under its six funereal palms…We reached Tabor safely…We never saw a human being on the whole route…Nazareth is forlorn…Jericho the accursed lies in a moldering ruin today…Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and their humiliation, have nothing about them now to remind one that they once knew the high honor of the Savior’s presence…Bethsaida and Chorzin have vanished form the earth….”

You get the point.

Where did the Palestinians Come From, and why is it important to answer? Here is Hamas interior minister, Fathi Hamad, Telling You: Palestinians came from Egypt and Saudi Arabia. His own words, not mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZtiUdl9Cd0

I’ll remind you that, Palestine Liberation Organization’s Zuhair Mohsen told the Dutch newspaper Trouw in 1977:

“The Palestinian people do not exist.

Prior to partition, Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted:

“We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.”

In 1937, a local Arab leader, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, told the Peel Commission, which ultimately suggested the partition of Palestine: “There is no such country [as Palestine]! ‘Palestine’ is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria.”

The representative of the Arab Higher Committee to the United Nations submitted a statement to the General Assembly in May 1947 that said “Palestine was part of the Province of Syria” and that, “politically, the Arabs of Palestine were not independent in the sense of forming a separate political entity.” A few years later, Ahmed Shuqeiri, later the chairman of the PLO, told the Security Council: “It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria.”

Historians support this. According to one historian ‘at least 25% of the Muslims who lived in all of Palestine in 1882 were newcomers or descendants of those who arrived after the Egyptian conquest of 1831 (Ernest Frankenstein, Justice for my People, p127). In addition to the Egyptian influx, there was a considerable immigration of Turks, Greeks, and Algerians. Moreover, many of the Palestinian Muslims who were attracted to western Palestine between 1882 and 1893 came from eastern Palestine (the West and East Banks of Jordan). Don’t forget that there are 1.5million Muslims living in Israel today (17.7% of the total population) not including Gaza and the West Bank.

And the 1911 edition of Encyclopedia Britannica, in an article by Oxford scholar Robert MacAlister, described the population of Palestine as comprising widely differing “ethnological” groups speaking “no less than fifty languages.” It was daunting therefore to “write concisely” about the “ethnology of Palestine,” especially following the influx from Egypt “which still persist in the villages.” …As the scholar Avneri (p11) wrote in 1984 summarizing the situation “The few Arabs who lived in Palestine… when Jewish settlement began, were a tiny remnant of a volatile population, which had been in constant flux, as a result of unending conflicts between local tribes and local despots. Diseases had taken a heavy toll on the local inhabitants”

Arab residents got Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and other areas, and event today there are 1.5million Muslims living in Israel – Jews agree to UN Resolution – Arab REJECT PALESTINIAN STATE.

If you want to talk about refugees? Then,

In 1948 State of Israel is established with a Jewish Majority, and Arab minority. Arabs given Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and Other Areas as their own states (many tens of times more land than Jews given) – to protect Jews from renewed persecution and allow them self-determination in context of preexisting violence between communities. IMMEDIATELY, THE JEWISH STATTE IS ATTACKED BY ARAB NATIONALISTS from Surrounding Nations who threaten TO SUBJUGATE, MASSACRE AND DESTROY THE ENTIRE JEWISH POPULATION. The war creates an Arab refugee problem (similar to the refugee problem created by Arabs in Syria 3 million refugees and Iraq over 1 million refugees of today) – increased by Arab generals who spread admittedly false rumors of Jewish soldiers committing crimes – in order to scare Arabs to fight against Jews. …And then lets talk about the between 750,000 – 1,000,000 Jews forced to flee from the Middle East and North Africa, who were never reimbursed or apologized to.

Some Palestinian leaders actually circulated false rumors that women had been raped. When confronted with the reality that no rapes had taken place, Hussein Khalidi, a Palestinian leader said, “We have to say this, so that Arab armies will come to liberate us from the Jews”. Hazam Nusseibi, who was a journalist at the time, told the BBC years later that the deliberate fabrication of the rape charge “was our biggest mistake…as soon as they heard that women had been raped at Deir Yassin, Palestinians fled in terror”. (Source: BBC Report, Israel and the Arabs: The 50 Year Conflict)

Let’s not forget that it was Arab nations who attacked Israel first in 1948 – they started a war, did they not expect there to be refugees?

When a man punches a wall in anger – is he being rational when you blames the wall for causing his broken hand? Who’s fault is it, his or the wall?

Today Israel is 1/6th of 1% of Arab land, far smaller than Jordan and Syria – and no Jews at all are allowed to live in Jordan, Syria, Gaza and Jews in Judaea and Samaria are slandered and called ‘settlers’ – further, the Palestinian leaders, say they will not accept peace until Judaea and Samaria, which have had continuous Jewish communities for 3,300 years are completely ethnically cleansed of Jews (is this not racism?) – with not a single Jew allowed to live under a Palestinian Government (racism).

Israel is not Algeria and Jews are not burnt Frenchmen in the sun, with somewhere else they can just disappear to.

Now, I’m not saying that Israel is perfect, and I can disagree with some of their policies and actions. But there comes a time when people should realize that this war has been hijacked by groups inside Gaza and the Middle East and turned into a religious war – and the response of Israel has been far better, more moral, more humanistic than other groups fighting back against Islamic militants. For example, Assad, Iran, Sisi, Hussein and many other leaders and no matter how bad the situation is for the Gazans – the response by Israel is still far better than the response by Arab muslim rulers and even the UN itself in Bosnia.

This is a history of Arab persecution, Ottoman Imperialism and Racism. The PLO government supports calls for a continuation of racism. Hamas and other groups call for genocide, oppression and best case harsh dhimmitude.

While in Israel 1.5 million Muslims (17.7% of the population not incl. Gaza and WB) are given freedom of religion, freedom of speech, civil rights, members in parliament, education, healthcare and more rights than Arabs have in most surrounding countries.

Part D

IF a man were freed from slavery and his master, would you say to him that he must return to slavery? Jews were not always slaves to Arab rulers – but Arab rulers were definitely our Masters, and they wouldn’t let us forget it. Or, would you tell that man he can fight for the freedom he deserves. If you care about human rights, and you care about protecting peoples freedoms, And for goodness sake speak up and acknowledge Israel and condemn the attempts of corrupt religious fanatics that are trying to murder Jews and return Jews to servitude and expel them from land whereon they have lived for 3,300 years.

Apartheid was 50 years; Jews lived under far harsher Christian and Muslim persecution for over 1,000 years.

Don’t ask Jews to give in to a history of Arab aggression and oppression, don’t ask us to set violent hostile masters over ourselves again and be the ones to put our own shackles on us again.

So please please please stop trying to kill and attack and vilify us as we try and keep our children, families and friends safe from a violent, ruthless enemy. And please speak up and act up to discourage Palestinians from using violence. It’s time for peace, and its time for them to stop fighting Israel and start building a future for themselves.

Other points:

(1) Don’t forget that ALL MUSLIMS are descended from converts to Islam, so claiming someone is a ‘convert’ doesn’t mean they are not a Jew.

(2) Don’t Forget the Cohen Model haplotype, priestly tradition and other genetic and non-genetic evidence for descent from a common ancestry amongst Jews.

(3) Most Importantly, Don’t forget that. The Jews are obsessed with Israel and Jerusalem and ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AT EVERY TIME IN HISTORY. A very large portion of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament surrounds getting to Israel, being promised Israel, escaping Egypt and living in Israel – as is confirmed by the Quran. All the later books of Judaism surround Israel. In fact the books of the prophets are mostly about Israel. The earlier parts of the Bible are all about the Jews being promised Israel. So the Jewish book, is about Zion. Jews pray exclusively to Jerusalem. They are the only people in history that made Jerusalem its capitol, and the Jews have always considered it their eternal capital – read that last sentence again. Israel is the one and only holy land to the Jews, and the Temple Mount in the Jerusalem is the only place on earth where Jews are allowed to build a Temple (not confused with synagogues). There is no place on earth that comes close to the holiness Jews believe exists in that spot.

During the full 2,000 years of exile (predicted in the Bible), observant Jews prayed, and still pray today, three times a day for the return of all Jews to Israel – This is where Zionism got its ideas from, and where it comes from. As the ‘amidah’ which forms the major part of Jewish prayer says “Sound the great Shofar of our freedom… and gather us from the four corners of the earth… And to Jerusalem, Your city, may You return…as You have spoken.” The return to Zion also occupies a major part of the “Grace” after meals. As it says, “We thank You, Lord, our God, for You have given to our forefathers as a heritage, a desirable, good and spacious land…. Israel, Your people, on Jerusalem, Your city, on Zion…” Prayers in the second half of the Passover prayer book deal with the Jewish return to Israel (from 2 exiles). I can quote it. The famous final sentence of the Passover meal, which is shouted by almost every Jew every single year, is: “Next year in Jerusalem!” This declaration is also shouted passionately at the conclusion of the final service of Yom Kippur, the most holy service of the entire year. Even in the marriage ceremony, the breaking of the glass by the groom is in order to remember the destruction of the second Temple, which derives from Psalm 137 where King David says that Jews must hold Jerusalem above even their greatest joy.

You see the ‘Torah’/Tawrat/Scripture of Judaism describes and prescribes all aspects of Jewish life from food to marriage to relations with friends to religion to clothing to bathing to cooking to cleaning to morals to everything. And the Torah is all about Israel. To clarify, Jewish culture as it exists today in all forms is molded and shaped by Torah values – and the Torah values Israel. While some Jews may forget what is written or never learn it, their parents or grandparents passed on values that come directly from the Torah. This is where the idea of Zionism comes from – to say “Zionism was just a political ideology invented by Theodor Herzl” is to completely ignore Jewish history, culture, language, customs, traditions and present to twist the truth.

So what most Jews hear when the anti-Zionist says to the Jew, “I think you are a fine person.”? What the anti-Zionist is really saying is that in order to fit their deluded wishes, a Jew must deny the Torah, deny their own religion, deny any historical or moral claim other Jews might have to the land of Israel, and ultimately deny the will of God! (That they, the Christians and the Muslims believe in as monotheists)

You can go ahead and quote ‘secular Zionism’ until you go blue in the face, but don’t forget that at the end of the day, why do you think the Jews ended up back in ISRAEL and NOT ANYWHERE ELSE? What do you think influenced their ideas? Their sense of identity and nationality? Their culture and their values? The Torah and Judaism – instilled in their culture and parenting.

(4) And Google the definition of a ‘nationality’ and see that Jews, who’s every aspect of societal, family, cultural, religious, gastronomic and child rearing life is influenced by and revolves around Torah values imprinted in our culture along all spectrums of religious observance.
